ReelSaver does not collect, store, or process any personal information. We do not require user registration or login.

• We do not collect names, email addresses, or contact information
• We do not store Instagram URLs you submit
• We do not save downloaded content on our servers
• We do not track individual user behavior

2. Analytics & Performance Data

We use Vercel Analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns and improve our service. This helps us identify popular features, performance bottlenecks, and user experience issues. All analytics data is completely anonymized and cannot be used to identify individual users.

Analytics information collected includes:

• Anonymous page view counts: How many times each page is viewed (no user identification)
• Geographic location (country level only): General region for performance optimization, never specific addresses
• Browser and device type: Chrome vs Firefox, mobile vs desktop - helps us test compatibility
• Performance metrics: Page load times, server response times to identify slow pages
• Referrer information: Which search engine or website brought you here (not your browsing history)

Important: We do NOT track individual user behavior across sessions. We can't see "User X visited 5 pages" - we only see "5 page views occurred". This is fundamentally different from tools like Google Analytics which track individual users.

3. What We Don't Collect (Privacy Wins)

Many free online tools collect way more data than they need. Here's what we deliberately DON'T collect:

• NO Instagram URLs you submit: We don't log or store the links you paste into our downloader
• NO downloaded content: Files go directly from Instagram to your device. We never see or save them
• NO email addresses or contact info: We don't require signup, so we never ask for your email
• NO payment information: Service is 100% free, no credit cards ever requested
• NO tracking cookies: Zero cookies that follow you around the internet
• NO login credentials: We never ask for your Instagram password or account access
• NO IP address logging: We don't create profiles based on your IP address
• NO social media account linking: No "Sign in with Facebook" or similar tracking mechanisms

4. Cookies & Local Storage

ReelSaver does not use cookies for tracking purposes. We respect your privacy and don't need to remember who you are.

However, your browser might store minimal technical data for functionality:

• Session storage: Temporary data cleared when you close your browser tab
• Cache: Your browser may cache our website files (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to load pages faster - this is standard browser behavior
• No persistent cookies: We don't set any long-term cookies that track you across sessions

You can clear browser cache and session storage at any time through your browser settings without affecting our service.

5. Third-Party Services & Data Sharing

We use the following third-party services to operate ReelSaver:

We do NOT: Sell your data to advertisers, share information with data brokers, or use third-party tracking pixels (Facebook Pixel, Google Ads, etc.).

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Since we don't collect personal data, there's nothing to retain or delete. Here's what happens to any temporary data:

• Download requests: Processed in real-time and discarded immediately after completion
• Server logs: Only basic error logs kept for 7 days for debugging, containing no personal information
• Analytics data: Aggregated data retained indefinitely (but cannot identify individuals)
• Downloaded files: Never stored on our servers - go directly from Instagram to your device

Your downloads: Once you download a file to your device, it's under your control. We have no access to it and cannot delete it. You're responsible for managing downloaded content on your device.

7. GDPR Compliance (EU Users)

ReelSaver is designed with privacy in mind and complies with EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requirements:

• No personal data collection: We don't collect data that could identify you personally
• No consent required: Since we don't use tracking cookies or process personal data, you don't need to accept cookie banners

EU users can use ReelSaver with confidence knowing their privacy rights are fully respected.

8. Data Security & Protection

Even though we don't collect personal data, we take security seriously:

• No data storage: The best security is not storing data in the first place - we follow this principle
• Secure hosting: Vercel infrastructure includes DDoS protection, firewalls, and security monitoring

• No payment processing: Since service is free, there's no financial data at risk

In the unlikely event of a security breach affecting our infrastructure, we would notify users through our homepage. However, since we don't store personal data, such breaches would not expose user information.

Under various privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.), you have certain rights regarding your personal data. Since ReelSaver doesn't collect personal data, these rights are largely not applicable, but here's the breakdown:

Since we don't collect any personal information from anyone (adults or children), we are inherently compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). There is no registration, no account creation, and no data collection that could identify users of any age.

Parents: If you're concerned about your child's online activity, we recommend supervising their internet usage. ReelSaver itself does not collect any information about your child, but Instagram's terms of service require users to be 13 or older.

11. International Data Transfers

ReelSaver is hosted on Vercel's global infrastructure, which means our website may be served from servers in various countries depending on your location. This helps provide faster loading times.

Since we don't collect personal data, international data transfer regulations (like EU-US data transfers) are not applicable. The only data that crosses borders is the anonymous aggregate analytics mentioned in Section 2.

12. Disclaimer & User Responsibility

ReelSaver is a tool for personal use only. While we protect your privacy by not collecting data, you are responsible for how you use downloaded content:

• Respect copyright laws and intellectual property rights
• Only download content you have permission to use
• Comply with Instagram's Terms of Service
• Don't use downloaded content for commercial purposes without proper authorization
• Be mindful of creators' rights and privacy

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. However, since we don't collect your email address, we can't notify you of changes directly. Continued use of ReelSaver after policy changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
